Nice to feel the exam [Persian Wars] is over although the Controlled Assessment was my biggest worry. Yes, again, most of the mock papers seems to have been similar to the exam paper, so happy with that, but I do feel that some guidance on the assessment objectives would have been nice!!

This is good news. It is also interesting that the 2,000 word limit is a limit and not a guide; just in time for my present pupils to bear in mind. I suppose that any quotes could be added to an appendix if really necessary?

Dear Paul, I’ve taught the Persians and the Controlled Assessment [short course] for examination this year. Controlled Assessment is quite different from course work but does need the teacher to have some knowledge of the areas [despite what the exam boards say]. However, it is great fun to teach and makes a change from tragedy and epic! As Tara says there are limited resources or INSET at the moment, hence this group
