Has anyone else entered candidates for the ’Sources for Latin’ paper on Monday? We’ve entered a few from Year 10. How useful have you found the specimen paper?

I should think anything on the new GCSE spec from the Oxford reader would be really useful!

Hi, the JACT Latin Committee are discussing ideas for possible sessions at the next Conference. Are there any topics/papers/texts that you would particularly welcome a session on?

Did anyone else think that line 5 ’quam solam nunc habebat’ of the unseen translation (qu.2) on Language 1 paper (higher tier – 8th June) was a strange ’adaptation’ of the original Tacitus? The literal translation ’(his life) which alone he now had’ must surely mean ’which was all he now had’ so I hope OCR will accept this.
I quite agree – it jumped out at me too, as a very awkward clause calling for a far less than literal translation.
Yep, same. Better to have left out, I think. I found the story ’jumpy’, and they found it hard to follow at times. My lot will have found the ad+gerundive embedded in a participial phrase a challenge in the final comprehension!
