Hi, Im just starting a GTP in classics at Slough Grammar. It is its own provider and thus you dont have to go to uni to gain QTS, Im trained by the school. This is in reponse their only Classics Teacher leaving on maternity. Im sure there must be other provider like this around the country, but any questions let me know

I know it’s not a GTP, but I’m just coming to the end of a PGCE with Buckingham Uni, geared towards teachers in post at independent schools. On the website, it says they only offer QTS to teachers in certain subjects – not true anymore. Feel free to message me if you want to now any more about it.

I completed a GTP in Classics in November 2009 with e-Qualitas in Surrey, with a tutor that travelled to see me from the Manchester area. If anyone has any questions, feel free to contact me!

I’m currently doing a GTP in Latin with the University of Hertfordshire. It’s the first time they have had one (I’m on it with one other) but the subject specific side of the course has been rather lacking. If you want to know anymore, just let me know!

Hi everyone. Would be really interested to hear from anyone who has recent experience of a Classics GTP. My school would like an unqualified member of my department to gain QTS via this route but we have not been able to find anywhere in the Midlands that offers it. It seems to be limited to the South/South East. Any advice or info on this much appreciated! Emma
